Pawsitively Glowing: Applications of Fluorescent Light Energy in Veterinary Dermatology

In this presentation, we will discuss the use of photobiomodulation therapy in companion animal dermatology by utilizing fluorescent light energy (PHOVIA® therapy). Various applications of phototherapy will be discussed, including the treatment of superficial & deep pyoderma, drug-resistant bacterial pyoderma, wound healing and complicated skin disease. Dermatological presentations may range from acute to chronic, localized or generalized, mild to severe, which necessitates access to various treatment and diagnostic tools in the veterinary practitioner’s toolkit. We will discuss clinical cases, tips and tricks about the use of phototherapy in practice.
